Experts Say Care in the Community Extends Living at Home for Seniors

Dr. Michael Rachlis, a public health physician says that with Centenarians being the fastest growing demographic, both the federal and provincial governments need to change the way they are approaching health care.

To adapt to the country’s aging population, Dr. Rachlis believes there needs to be a system that provides the same subsidy funding and support that seniors living in long term care homes receive to those who meet the criteria for long term care but who are living with some personal support in the community.
