Course Overview

Mission

Montessori Dementia Program trains adult learners to become adaptable, resourceful guides who possess the skills to meet the needs of people living with dementia. The course provides practical techniques to give the best possible quality of life for the person living with dementia, and their caregivers.

Vision

Montessori Dementia Program will guide and train adult caregivers to develop the necessary skills to create a more purposeful, dignified and independent life for those living with dementia. The major strengths of the program focus on a broad range of Montessori teaching strategies to support learning.

Ethics

Montessori Dementia Program operates within the provisions of the Ontario Human Rights Code, which guarantees freedom from discrimination on the basis of age, sex, religious persuasion, race or colour. Human dignity in an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation and openness is promoted at all times.
