Course Overview

The Training of Trainers’ Certificate Course Level 1 is offered to experienced and qualified Montessori Teachers who wish to further enrich their careers by training to become Montessori Teacher Trainers.

Montessori Teachers College’s course is an invigorating experience that provides you with the opportunity to deeper your understanding of the ideas and principles of Dr. Maria Montessori to ultimately pass your knowledge and experience onto future generations of Montessori teachers.

Course Details

The Training of Trainers’ Certificate Course Level 1 offers a detailed introduction to the principles of professional adult education—a combination of theoretical and practical experiences in the framework of Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy and methodologies.

This level is divided into 6 chapters, each with its own theme. While the themes are separate, they bring you on a theoretical and analytical journey from getting to know how adult learners learn, communicating with adult learners, planning for adult learners through to instructional methods and their applications.

Course Duration: 75 hours approximately, which includes lectures, discussions, assignments and feedback.

  • to begin the journey of understanding and learning the theories of how adults learn
  • to understand the theoretical framework of adult education, instruction and learning
  • to learn how to interact with adult learners with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds

Course Aims and Objectives

Within the course aims and objectives you will:

  • learn the elements that are required to be an inspiring candidate lecturer
  • develop an appreciation for the Montessori message at a deeper level
  • learn a number of Adult Instructional Methods and match these to specific objectives and learning outcomes

Admission Process:

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have

A Montessori diploma from a MACTE accredited Training College or from AMI

A minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a Montessori prepared (classroom) environment

A university degree or equivalent

Course Dates: June 5th, 2021 to September 11th, 2021

Course Duration: 14 weeks

Course is offered part-time

Class will be online, lectured and mentored by Dean Paula Glasgow
